Glenn
and Sharon Paré of East Sandwich, Massachusetts
opened Salt Meadow Gallery on Memorial Day weekend 2005.
For the past 20+ years Glenn worked in the museum world
at several nationally known accredited organizations,
most recently as Executive Director of Heritage Museums
and Gardens on Cape Cod. He began his museum career
at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, where
he was Director of Sponsored Programs. In 1987 Glenn
and his wife Sharon moved back to Glenn's home state
of Massachusetts, where he continued his career as Director
of Development for the U.S.S. Constitution Museum (Old
Ironsides) in Boston, and then as Executive Director
of the Museum of Transportation (now Larz Anderson Auto
Museum) in Brookline, Massachusetts.
One
of the Parés' favorite pastimes is exploring
museums, art galleries and antiques shops, both close
to home and when traveling. Sharon started college as
an art major, but soon turned to a more "practical"
career as a computer technology professional; her creative
outlet has been helping to develop exhibitions as a
museum volunteer. In early 2005 they decided to meld
their creative and business skills with their favorite
leisure activity, and Salt Meadow Gallery was born!
We hope you will visit us soon, and that you will enjoy
all of the wonderful things the gallery has to offer.
